Christopher Lewis brings over 30 years of dedicated service in the substance use disorder field, including 14 years with the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). As the Chief of Licensing and Certification for the last four years of his tenure, he played a pivotal role in developing regulations, policies, and application processes that shaped the current landscape of substance abuse treatment licensing and certification. His experience spans over 800 onsite visits, Drug Medi-Cal targeted reviews, and the creation of key regulatory documents still in use today. As the President of SUD Compliance & Consulting, Christopher now leads a team that specializes in providing unbiased, expert consulting services for substance abuse licensing, certification, and Joint Commission accreditation. His leadership has contributed to over $30 million in judgments for plaintiffs who suffered harm due to substandard care.

With a BS in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and over 15 years of hands-on experience in the industry, Christopher’s extensive background in government administration, policy writing, and legal compliance is unmatched. His passion lies in ensuring the highest standards of care within the industry, and he is committed to transparency, accountability, and integrity.
